Lonely Shell - #26 Dora Sislian Themelis

Lonely Shell 7x10 Watercolor Canson paper
Twenty minutes during a busy day yesterday afforded me just enough time to sketch this quick watercolor painting of a piece of broken shell retrieved from the beach last weekend. Thankfully my painting equipment is out and readily available so I can satisfy my whim to paint.

Two More Watercolors

#17 Lone Shell (c)2011 Dora Sislian Themelis
#16 Apple is Butting In (c)2011 Dora Sislian Themelis

I am posting #16 and #17 to the challenge. I'm also having a challenge with Blogger today. Did they change it? Things seem different and my paintings came up switched around. Anyway, I found some time in this busy week and these are the results of my painting. #16 is the last time I am painting an apple for a while! #17 was a twenty minute painting of that shell. May be the last time I paint that too.

Shells With Bits #12

Shells With Bits (c)2011DST 8x12 Watercolor
This latest watercolor was done in twenty minutes. Thanks to our host here on the challenge, Laure, I realized I was scrutinizing and judging my pieces. I'm done with that and happy to find twenty minutes to paint the items available. Quantity over quality, and it's the process not the result. And there you have it, #12 in my personal challenge.

Three Shells - #10

Three Shells 8x12 Watercolor (c)2011 Dora Sislian Themelis
Moving on to #10 in the challenge with Three Shells. At this rate, will I get 100 paintings done in one year? I'm not so sure, but I keep going. I am trying to decide whether to look over some of my photos for ideas or keep painting from life. I've been doing well painting what I see and not so sure I want to go back to photos. I will have to think about it.
