I think this is a really strong work, color-wise, composition-wise and the figure has everything it needs. My brain said Wow when I saw this.
I love the bright sunlight and the dark shadows. I really like it...
The out-of-focus background on the right suggests movement to me, though the shadow of the figure is crisp, as though the child is still. I like that contrast! I keep looking between the two sides of the picture, each interesting in its own way.
I definitely see action here and the sunlight is brilliant and I love the harsh shadow.
