Cathy Orfall #2 - Blue Umbrella

24 hours later!  My son and I were sitting in the sand at Condado, Puerto Rico enjoying 82 degree weather and a cold cerveza!

  1. Lovely image and you captured so mu;ch in that umbrella, so simply. I like the empty chairs just waiting for us to sit down.

  2. Very striking! I'm impressed at how well you handled that umbrella. That looks difficult.

  3. I love the way the beach fades into the ocean, and the contrast of that transition agains the sharp umbrella and chairs. Very calm relaxing scene.

  4. Thank you all for your nice comments! I am looking forward to learning a lot with you on this Challenge! Elva, I used a masquepen to keep the white piping on the umbrella - it was too narrow for me to try free-hand at saving the whites!

  6. I feel the umbrella literally calling "Come on over and sit her and enjoy the beach". Such a feeling of 'welcome' comes through this painting.
