We celebrated our anniversary last weekend in Sedona, Arizona which is known for it's red rock structures.
I packed my art supplies thinking I would do some painting and I did 8 sketches! My husband was unusually patient while waiting for me to paint.
I sat outside the car looking at the church built into the rocks and was awed by the beauty. My hands went for the paints almost on their own.
The second painting of the red rocks in the distance was done sitting at a picnic table.
What I learned was that I am hooked on plein aire painting! What a difference in the light and just everything. I also took photos and I like my paintings better.
