Kelly - Painting #27 - White-breasted Nuthatch in Purple and Red
Painting 27 - White-breasted Nuthatch in Purple
...another experiment. I wanted to see just how far from reality I could go and still produce a recognizable image. I started with a 20-second paint sketch of a White-breasted Nuthatch in red, then let the purple fall wherever it felt good. Both Rick the Reluctant Birder (my hubby) and my son, Matty, recognized this as a nuthatch. Matty thought it was cool, and Rick wondered if I did it with my own blood... I really enjoyed doing this sketch....fun, fast, tons of pigment...no detail.

I really like this one, Kelly! There is something very moving about it. Really cool~~
Isn't it fun to try new things and then have that positive reinforcement?!
