Liz Cutler # 39 and #40 Thompson Island, oil on panel 12x12

I am so addicted to plein air painting and Acadia National Park. I stopped twice at Thompson Island. This winter I will use these as references for larger paintings. Sorry about poor photos , I think some corn oil got on my camera from washing my brushes.

  3. I am curious how much the oil is contributing to the soft focus of the top image. It's gorgeous! I also like the cool shadows in the bottom image towards the back....they pull the eye in and backward.

  4. Thanks. there isn't that much oil as it is thinly painted on handed clear grasp with lots of wood showing.
