Lonely Shell - #26 Dora Sislian Themelis

Lonely Shell 7x10 Watercolor Canson paper
Twenty minutes during a busy day yesterday afforded me just enough time to sketch this quick watercolor painting of a piece of broken shell retrieved from the beach last weekend. Thankfully my painting equipment is out and readily available so I can satisfy my whim to paint.

  1. Yay, Dora, I recognized your post immediately of course. This is a new angle for a shell (right?) among your works, and I especially like the crisply colored lines on the right top contrasting with the blended ones on the left top. Nice sense of roundness also.

  2. Interesting how shells or even pieces of shells can create fun sketches. I like all of the colors that you've captured in this broken shell.
