Elva #64 and 65
Many years ago a sea Captain built an estate near the ocean, not far from Charleston, Oregon. His home burned but his beautiful gardens are now maintained as a State Park. This little Japanese structure and tree are on the edge of a pond in the gardens. I sketched it on location several months ago and then had the fun of painting it as I remember it.
A quick on location sketch of three trees across the Umpqua River from Whilster's Bend Park. I painted this yesterday using water soluble graphite pencil and watercolor.
Both are done in my Aquabee sketchbook, 93# paper. I'm very happy with the quality of these sketchbooks for field sketching.
