Sunflowers on the Table -#27 Dora Sislian Themelis

Sunflowers on the Table (c)2011 11x14 Watercolor on Lanaquarelle
Worked in twenty minute intervals, I painted another sunflowers watercolor making this #27 in the challenge. Soon as I was done I put it away so as not to offer any chance to second guess anything. Finished and done.

11x 14 in 20 minutes? The wow is the contrast, the vibrant colors and the confidence. Gorgeous.

It's so pleasing the way the colors work: yellows, greens, and blues. Also impressed with the contrast and saturation you get with the watercolors.

Yes, I too am impressed with the contrast and clarity of the individual petals... also enjoying the composition, different from the typical full-flower depiction.

Thanks everyone! I want to clarify that I painted this in about three intervals of twenty minutes each to force myself to stop. I could have stopped at the first twenty minute mark, but not get the depth I was looking for.

I'm really drawn to the color intensity in these sunflowers. I'm also intrigued by how you arranged/cropped the image. Makes for a very interesting composition.
