Amanita # 81

Amanita are one of my favorite mushrooms. Off to the left of the amanita are two tiny bird's nest fungi growing on the twig.

I taped the edges of this piece and painted it on a blank Strathmore notecard .... but the paint bled under the tape. Darn! Guess I'll have to trim it and mount it on another piece of paper.

Oh my gosh, Elva...this is just beautiful. I love the dark background...it really captures the feel of a dark, wet woods. Love the bright reds and the delicate ferns at the base.

BEAUTIFUL, just BEAUTIFUL. Those little fungus could be a painting all on its own. Love the way the light shines from this.

Elva- this is beautiful! Are these mushrooms really such a pretty color? By the way, I like a fuzzy edge on my paintings!

The mushrooms really are that pretty. Usually they are red, sometimes red/orange. Squirrels eat them but people are warned not to.

My fuzzy edge is way more. I cropped it here. The the paint went all the way under the tape in some places, but only some places. I think the paper is too thin and by the time I wet the background 2 or 3 times, it got soggy under the tape.
