Lorrie #73 - Maple Glory

Maple Glory, watercolor 18 x 20 inches
This is a portion of a bigger horizontal painting that's nothing but fall leaves and a few contrasting tree limbs. It's based on a photo my daughter took a couple years ago back east during the height of fall colors. I liked the abstractish look and colors to play with.

...beautiful, Lorrie. Seeing this painting puts me back in October with all the beautiful leaves falling down. I really like the way the colors blend together.

Love the high contrast that says Autumn as well as the confident looseness of the leaves.
I often get caught up in spots of color so I appreciate your de sion. Beautiful!

I agree with you about the abstract look. The composition has a lot of rhythm to it between the branches and the leaf textures.
