#7 Kristin, Spring moose in the Chugach

11 x 14" acrylic
(c) 2011, klink

I had fun painting this one. I painted from photos I took at a conservation center on a beautiful spring day. It was wonderful to work from references that I spent a while looking at and observing. I know the ducks are a little larger than life, but I couldn't help it.

I love the way light is hitting the moose,it's neat that you captured the expansivness in the landscape in contrast to an intimacy with the animals. Wow. I thought it was done with colored pencils, exquisite detail.

Oh...gosh! How cool. I've never been in the presence of a moose! I love his head and how you have him turning around to see the quackers!

Kristin, this is so nicely done in many ways -- composition, colors, crispness and reflections-- I feel like I am right there, enjoying this expansive, pristine land and captivated by what is going to happen between those critters. Thanks for the journey and "nature moment" with wildlife.
