#004-Twilight at the Sink-Kathy

This painting is from a series of sketches I did while still living in my Belgian house. I spent many hours prepping food and washing dishes at this very sink ; ). I was trying to go for a dream-like effect with this---I wanted it to convey a memory and a feeling more than an actual scene. After I painted the scene, I went over the whole picture with a glaze of raw sienna. Lots of fun! More on my blog.....

You definitely achieved your goal. Very dreamy which sure can't be easy in a kitchen! :) cuz it's my least favorite place to be.

This has an old timey, sweet feel to it, Kathy! And yes, it's definitely fun.

I like your dreamy quality. I think painting a memory is one of the most challenging things we can take on.

Kathy, this is beautiful. I lived in Germany for a while (a long time ago...in 1985). There is a totally different feel over there. I love it. I can imagine what the kitchen was like through the feel of this painting.
