Lorrie #67 - Confettia

Confettia, watercolor 11 x 13 inches
If I were to name this imaginary flower it would be "Confettia." This started with putting colors into droplets of water sprayed on the page, and letting them intermingle, later adding salt for that fun texture. It began to look like petals of a flower, so in a couple of additional sessions later, I worked toward that impression by doing more "petals" and adding stem, shading, etc.

What a very creative idea and a creative name for it. Lovely results.

This reminds me of Buckbean, which is kind of a white flower with hairy petals, though they aren't actually hairy. How cool.

Wow, Lorrie....very creative technique. When I enlarged the photo I could really see the salt work. Very cool...

It looks as though your Confettia is all decked out for Mardi Gras. Very festive!
