#20 Kristin, three feathers

6x9" watercolor and pen
(c) 2011

I have been curious about Lorrie's process of painting from the imagination. It is something that I don't think I've done much since I was little: start painting on a blank piece of paper with little concept of outcome and see where it takes you. Although I love to delve into the specific details of life, it was fun to throw them out the window and to play with the paint a little more.

there is a loosness and flow to this one that is beyond the feathers, it is downright playful.

Yay, I love this!! With just an idea you have given us: a mystery (what are these doing here?), some action (one feather is falling--great idea and clearly depicted), the feel of being on that path with cool lighting (a refreshing invitation), and a fun composition... as well as your lovely style. Let me know if you want more random ideas!!

Love the concept of play and it's very well done here! More please.
