#29 Liz Acryllic on 10x 10 panel- View from the Dock

I sat on the dock, again with my wood panel and decided on a split complimentary palette very close to the color of the wood support. I loosely painted and left quite a bit of wood showing through. I may have stayed out and gone for more detail but was driven in by the blackflies. This was quite a challenge to focus on value and the few colors on my palette and not splash color with abandon.

Liz: I really like the feeling of movement in this landscape: the feel of wind in the trees and ripples on the water. It is fun to see your experiments with wood panel; what sort of wood are you using?

Really nice, Liz! I especially like the water and its shimmer and reflections.

Very nice - I too like all of the color in the water and I can 'hear' the lapping of the water at the shore.

Perhaps it's the brief open time of the acrylics, but there seems to be a strong sense of confidence in your acrylic work that I don't get from the oils. It's as if you just go for it. Great job on capturing the movement of the water and trees.

Liz, you've really been busy. I'm just catching back up this evening. Love all these new paintings!
