Lorrie #20 - Granite Rest

Granite Rest, watercolor, 8x10 inches
This peaceful, hot outcrop of granite boulders is in Pinnacles National Monument. I loved the speckled brown and pink and green of the massive rock hillside, and the occasional hardy clump of grasses.

I like how you have captured the color in the rocks - I can feel the sun on them.

I love the texture created by the loose speckles in the foreground! It seems so organic and really brings me in. You created a really nice feeling of space as the background recedes too.
