#59 Mosquito Lake- Sheryl Hawkins

Mosquito Lake is in Northern California on the way to Lake Tahoe- and is one of our favorite day trip destinations.  It is always smooth and glassy with awesome reflections so I have taken many photos of it and finally painted it.  I spent more time on it than usual, but enjoyed painting it.

This is just so awesome! The reflections in the water are unbelievable -- it almost looks like a photo. This must be a beautiful place -- I'll have to add it to my list of places to visit.

I'm in awe of all of the different colors and values that you've captured in this - it reads with so much depth.

Wow such vibrant colors! You have got the pine trees colors down, I love the warm splash of light on the left side, pulls it forward. Nice composition with the rock in front.

This one has heart and soul! Love the feeling of the wind whistling through the trees and the frogs calling and the crickets singing.

One suggestion....watch out for strong verticals near the center of the image. That center pine tree draws my eye just a bit too much. Placing it over to the right a bit more would make a big difference.

Wow, Sheryl!!! The colors are incredible...and the depth. I feel the coolness of the pines and the freshness of the air.
